Desolate Lands online games to finally find a worthy successor. Below, you can read the interview with the creative director of Desolate, Valerio Tamburini:
Hello Valerio. What exactly were you doing at the company during the first Desolate games?
By Valerio Tamburini: I was one of the programmers of Desolate Online. Apart from that, I was also a producer.
Then you were working for Digital Reality on several MMOs, but it all got broken down when everyone left the company to form Free Worlds, and Desolate Online got taken over by Desolate Online Network. What exactly are the goals of Desolate Games?
I decided to leave Digital Reality in 2003. I got involved with the Desolate games as producer, but it took me 2 years to step up as creative director. I am lucky that I was able to join the community, and for Desolate Online, it was crucial for the survival of the game, so I was involved in many activities that were vital for the growth of Desolate Online.
First of all, we are going to continue the storyline of the Desolate Online game. Also, we want to stay within the Desolate fanbase, which is very big, and to attract new players and other games, we are also developing Desolate Online Online digital books, which are essential for the game.
We are also working on Desolate Online online games, where you can play in single player mode, and online multiplayer as well. These are only part of our plans, because we also have our fantasy IP that we want to develop, and we will bring to Desolate both online and single player game experiences.
In the video, you said you have a lot of ideas in mind, but we are not sure what will make it into the game. What will be the key aspects of Desolate Games that you want to develop?
The key aspect for Desolate Games will be creating our own vision of an online action game with Desolate’s atmosphere and mythology, and focusing on online and single player experience. In the future, we would like to bring both single player and multiplayer game to the market.
